Eating in the Sayulita is not the same as everywhere else in Mexico. There are not only a wide variety of food choices but also many restaurant and eateries.  Of course, there may not be any fast food chains in the small towns, but they do exist in the larger cities.

Casual Restaurants in Sayulita

These establishments provide table seating and can range from informal to slightly more formal but are always welcoming and friendly. Sayulita restaurants serve various types of food, including steak and seafood, bars and grills, Italian, Asian, healthy alternatives, and of course, Mexican food!

Sayulita Carts and Street Meat

Some street vendors have a small area for a table and/or chairs, but these local home-cooked delicacies (or comida corrida) are primarily offered by locals riding their food-packed tricycles or established food carts, selling items like tacos, quesadillas, tamales, pan dulce (sweet bread similar to pastries) ice cream, hot dogs and hamburgers.

Sayulita Carnicerias

These are similar to butchers further north or the meat department of a national grocery store. All they sell is meat, meat and…  more delicious meat!

Sayulita Corner Stores or Grocers

These are the local markets and quick stores that have a little bit of everything, and they almost always have some food and drinks ‘on the go.’

Sayulita Farmacias (Pharmacies)

This is the place to buy over-the-counter drugs, prescription medicine, vitamins, toiletries, and cosmetics.  There’s at least one in every town.

Stay tuned for an upcoming list of restaurants and stores in Sayulita.
